Paper Quilt Panel

Quilt Inspired Paper Panel

In this week's art session we were working on a quilt inspired paper panel, with focus on geometric shapes and colour.
It is a collaborative art project that I want to continue with the following art groups as well. The students were given paper, cut in squares and trinangles in different sizes and colours. We started with green, blue and purple. (Which will be followed by pink, red, orange and yellow.) The students were then asked to arrange the triangle shapes on their paper square however they wanted. (To patiently wait until the last piece of paper has been glued by their class mates was probably the biggest challenge ;-)Finally all 12 pieces had to be arranged on a larger paper. Here we focused mainly on the colours, to achieve a well balanced panel piece. With this project I want to emphasize unity and variety in art and the school community.
